Recently, there have been tons of rumours about a new mascot waddling around Club Penguin for the April Fools Party 2011. Despite those rumours being proven false, the new mascot has been confirmed real. The new mascot is a penguin we all know about but has never been an actual Mascot on Club Penguin: Rookie! Rookie is a green penguin that wears red sunglasses and a red propellor hat. If you haven’t seen him before, below is a picture of his penguin.
Rookie was first seen in the Club Penguin Nintendo DS Video Game: Elite Penguin Force. Ever since then, he’s occasionally appeared in the old PSA Missions and is now appearing for most Elite Penguin Force updates. In the PSA Missions, Rookie would be your partner along with JetPack Guy. However, Rookie was the goofy-type penguin, always making silly mistakes. After a few years of Rookie being known on Club Penguin, he is officially becoming a mascot.
A while ago, Billybob announced that a new mascot would soon come to Club Penguin and Club Penguin recently added new slots reading “Hi Rookie!” and “Where is Rookie?” in the Ultimate Safe Chat Messages. Also, it has been heard that a few penguins found Rookie’s penguin ID stored in Club Penguin’s system. Rookie currently has no item/background when you find him and is currently not online, though. Basically, it seems that Club Penguin has created Rookie for appearance and will be used in the future. I will notify everyone as soon as Rookie starts waddling around the island.
